Sudden Light
唐突なる光明

I have been here before,
ぼくはここに来たことがある。
　　But wheb or how I cannot tell:
けれどもそれは、いつ、どうしてだったか、さて・・・・・。
I know the grass beyond the door,
僕は鮮明に思い出す。ドアを開ければ青草の
　　The sweet keen smell,
あの甘美なにおいが鼻を穿ち
The sighing sound,the lights around the shore.
風は耳元にささめき、見はるかす浜辺には点々と燈火。

You have been,mine before,━
きみはかってぼくのものだった。
　　 How long ago I may noto know:
それからどれほどの時がたったか、なにもかも曖昧で、
But just when at that swallow's soar
けれども、あの、燕が空をよこぎっていったそのとき
　　Your neck turned so,
きみはふと首をめぐらして見上げたが
Some veil did fall,━I knew it aoo of yore.
そこでぼくの記憶は急にぼやける
━昔のことはすべて明晰に覚えているのに。

Has this been thus before?
あれは、ほんとうにあったことだろうか。
　　And shall not thus time's eddying flight
いま、渦まく時の流れに、死をものりこえて
Still with our lives our love restore
　　 In death's despite,
なおぼくらの命が、ぼくらの愛がよみがえって
And day and night yield one delight once more?
昼夜あの歓喜をもう一度手にすることはできぬだろうか。
